The history of the Lacoste polo Stylish

Despite its name, the Lacoste polo in fact are the direct descendants of the original cotton "white tennis born at the end of the century.

The white "tennis" style is a long sleeve shirt buttoned front, usually worn with tight sleeves defined. Although this seems a very limited choice of mesh for the athletes by today's standards tennis whites were very relaxed and very "sporty" in their time.

But French tennis star RenéLacoste thought he could improve the old button-up style. He had long believed that the long sleeves of white tennis of the day were uncomfortable and limited mobility on the field. He experimented with a white short-sleeved, loose cotton shirt with a design that features a softer, flat collar and a tail in the back.

Lacoste design at first was in 1926 U.S. Open Tennis Championship. Needless to say, renewed style has attracted more than looks and someComments - some positive and some very negative. He insisted with its design and in 1927, has sewn the badge now famous crocodile in the top left of his shirts. This was in response to the American press, which gave him the nickname "The Alligator".

In early 1930, Lacoste founded "Logo de Chemise Lacoste," a company that manufacture and sale of his new shirt would be. His design solved many of the problems of traditional tennis white goods, in particular the tendency oflong sleeves rolled down at half time. And softer, flat collar can be worn either relaxed or reversed against sunburn on the back of the guard in the neck.

Now retired from professional tennis, Lacoste began to focus his attention on merchandising and marketing of his shirts. He allied himself with his friend and business partner, André Gillier on the market for "Lacoste Shirt", particularly in North America for the dealer. The crocodile logo embroidered on their shirts to ensuredistinctive and that has helped to "brand" Lacoste shirts, as unique. The mass-marketing of the tennis shirt was the unexpected result of extraction of other athletes. Polo players, in particular, has begun to bear its own tennis-shirt as an alternative to thick, long sleeved shirt buttoned, traditionally worn in their sport.

, You are just as good today a Lacoste polo shirt on the golf course than on the tennis court or find a polo ground. In fact, the small, intimateCrocodile has become a wardrobe staple food for all modern people, not just for athletes. Hip-hop started the fashion, the pole are provided, and Lacoste clothing today can be seen in rap videos, schoolyards and even nightclubs.

Paradoxically, however, the T-shirt hardly worn tennis players these days, because they started the transition to T-shirt late 90s. Polo players are also the original Lacoste shirt moved. Although the shirt is rarely used in its originalThe purpose of today is the popularity remains as strong as ever in public.
